Cuban Heel

The Cuban heel, also known as the flamenco heel, is a short, chunky heel with a bit of an inward bevel at the back. Instead of being straight up and down, the Cuban heel is narrower at the bottom. Seen in profile, it marks an oblique line from the back to the front.

It originated in America, as it was the original footwear worn by cowboys, who wore this type of Cuban heel, which allowed them to better hold the horses' stirrups.
